The ASC Glatt Fluid Bed Control System

Designed for fluid bed dryers and coating. The system is composed of two basic panels: a power panel and an operator panel (HMI — Human Machine Interface).

The power panel is typically remotely mounted in an accessible equipment room, while the HMI is mounted near or on the coating pan itself. The system controls all functions associated with pan coating including:

  • Airflow
  • Temperature
  • Differential pressures
  • Dust collectors
  • Air handling units
  • Spraying systems

Easy Access & Maintenance

Both the power panel and HMI panel have hinged doors for easy maintenance access. A new Inverter duty gear motor and belt drive configuration greatly improves reliability, reduces noise, and lowers maintenance costs.

User Friendly HMI

Designed from the ground up to be more flexible and user-friendly than any system in the industry. Manufacturers choose which process variables to control, and ASC activates only those needed options.

Expandable Architecture

Features can be activated as a Professional Service — no need for a new set of controls. Provisions in hardware and software accommodate expansion. Most features can be monitored via network connection.

Allen-Bradley Based

Built on fiercely reliable Rockwell / Allen-Bradley components with automated process control, recipe development, maintenance mode, and login security screens.

Wurster Coating

Designed to accommodate Wurster coating. Precision metered control of granulation spraying is a standard option, with additional hardware available for solution management.

21 CFR Part 11

Upgradeable to the ASC Glatt Fluid Bed Dryer Control 120E model — automated process control and electronic data management consistent with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

  • IP65 NEMA 4 stainless steel enclosure
  • 10" Allen-Bradley wash-down touch screen
  • Emergency stop button
  • Power On/Off selector

Control Cabinet

One (1) system control cabinet equipped with:

  • IP65 NEMA 4 steel enclosure
  • Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller
  • Allen-Bradley analog I/O modules
  • Power supply as needed

  • Coating motor control — variable speed & soft start/stop
  • Air handling temperature and flow control
  • Inlet/Outlet/Bypass Pan temperature control
